    I’ll be the first to admit the fact that I did not think that Jillian Michaels and yoga would work well together. I was wrong! I’ve been doing yoga on and off for years. I jog regularly and do strength training on occassion. I’m in reasonably good shape and am usually able to start at an intermediate level with exercise DVD’s. In this case, I couldn’t even keep up with the “beginner” trainer! This DVD includes two thirty minute workouts. In each workout, Jillian instructs while two other trainers demonstrate poses. One of these trainers demonstrates beginner poses while the other demonstrates intermediate and advanced poses. Jillian does most of the poses as well. As many people have said (read the reviews for the DVD – there are many), Jillian keeps you enthusiastic and energized without sounding super cheesy. In fact, I liked her style so much that I’m going to buy some of her other fitness videos. For Yoga Meltdown, I will say that it’d definitely help to have yoga experience before trying to keep up with Jillian. She does not explain poses; she quickly introduces poses as she and/or the other trainers move into those poses. Expect to do many yoga poses, many push-ups, and a few stretches (but not many, lol). The video is face paced and your arms and legs will likely feel like jello when you finish even one workout. I highly recommend this video!!!

    I LOVE vinyasa/power yoga. I love how fast it is and how it moves rhythmically with the breath, strengthening both your body and spirit. I also like Jillian Michaels – 30 day shred is great. That said, I got this instant vid because I needed a bodyweight workout while visiting my boyfriend, and I liked the workout, but I think that calling it yoga is really misleading. She’s taken yoga moves that are also bodyweight strength moves and put them into her circuit style workout – it’s effective, but it’s not yoga. There’s no breathing rhythm to it.

    I’ll keep doing this one on the go, though.

    I don’t watch much TV so I didn’t really know anything about Jillian Michaels until about two months ago. I went on Exercise TV on demand and saw she had her own section so I tried one of her workouts on a whim. I fell in love with her personality instantly – which really helped me to keep coming back and keeping up my workouts. I loved her pep talks! Then I tried Yoga Meltdown and FELL IN LOVE. I was an athlete for most of my teens and 20s so whenever I would try yoga in the past, I liked the way it sculpted but found it too slow and not enough calories burned. Jillian realized this too and changed everything with Yoga Meltdown!!! Also – I’d like to point out that I hadn’t exercised in a few months so was a little out of shape – I did Yoga Meltdown twice a week for about a month now, and I am TOTALLY seeing results!! Am in love with Jillian and want to do all her videos! Thanks Jillian!
